Examples of tissues and body fluids

What kind of services can ABS provide?

ABS provides a full range of tissues, human cells, blood components, body fluids, and tissue-derived bioreagents for basic research, drug discovery, and biomarkers studies. Examples of animal species, tissue types/body fluids, and product types are listed below.

Examples of products that ABS can prepare from tissues or body fluids

ABS can either provide unprocessed tissue sample/body fluid, or can use either client's or internal experimental protocols to prepare subcellular fractions, tissue homogenates, nucleic acids, etc. The list below is only an example of product categories that ABS can provide. Please contact us for further information.

Product Type Description
cytosol
blood cells and blood components
frozen tissue sample
genomic DNA
membrane preparation numerous membrane preparations for receptor-binding studies (including large scale preps for HTS)
non-frozen tissue sample
nuclear fraction
OCT-embedded tissue sample
paraffin block formalin-fixed parrafin-embedded sample
primary cell culture
protein extract eg. soluble and insoluble protein fractions from a tissue
RNA total RNA, polyA+ RNA; either DNAsed RNA or RNA left untreated; various isolation protocols possible
slides from frozen tissue slides from frozen tissue
slides from paraffin block slides from formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded blocks
tissue homogenate eg.for Western blots
tissue sample in formalin formalin-fixed tissue sample, in formalin

Animal species that ABS can use as a source
In addition to common laboratory species (rat, mice etc.), ABS can use tissue samples from a variety of other species, including human. Please contact us for further information.

Examples of tissues and body fluids that ABS can use as a source

This is a partial listing of tissues and body fluids that ABS can either provide in unprocessed form, as a processed product (RNA, membranes etc.). For more info see also the product category list below. The tissue list is base on human anatomy, but applies also to other species, depending on animal size and availability.
